24th-28th AUG 09
WILPENA POUND CAMP

I survived for five days out in the bush; without a bed, straightener, computer & music.
Damn I feel so proud of myself. BTW this is where they filmed Wolf Creek as well >:) Get ready to read bitches, cause I'm going to write heaps.

DAY1

Thought I was going to be freaking late but ended up I was still early that morning. Teachers were like get to school by 7:30AM but I got there at 7:50AM.. and FFS we didn't even leave til 9AM. Jenny, Duyen, & Nga all came to give us their farewells. (plus Duyen's cupcake) Tiffany got to school late so she couldn't really come up to us -______-"

On the bus trip there which was around 8hours including breaks, everyone stuffed up so much on junky food. You don't wanna know how much I ate. Its .. overwhelming.
Clare Valley is such a pretty place. We stopped there for lunch, legged it to Subway (Y)
And I never knew that Subway sold Cinnamon Scrolls & those pastry things too!
The rest of the trip was okay I guess, generally just slept for the majority of the trip on my pillow on Jessica's lap (ehehs). Mansoureh tripped me at the
next toilet stop. We were running back to the bus cause we were the last people back & I just freaking rolled onto the gravel (daggers).

Urghs, the tents there were so hard to put up as well, so dirty & feral. All of our tents were so close to each other, it was like a threesome! So it was me & Jess in one, Zahra & Mansoureh in the other one and Anne, Da Young & Nhung T. in the other one.
We also found out that the teachers exaggerated completely about the distance of the toilet/shower block away from the camp. "1KM" , BS it was more like 300 metres.
Oh and dinner? Sara Lee's frozen Lasagna bby. That was alright, and we had garlic bread & salad too. They were so stingy, only one piece of Garlic Bread
each.

Night walk was after & that was so nice. Apparently we were the first group in ages to settle down properly at the place, proves how mature we are. Hah.
Supper next, custard with canned fruits. Its actually quite appetizing.

SLEEEEEEEEP;
one of the worst sleeps I ever had. We slept on
the ground so there was only the tent, a super thin sleeping mat and our sleeping bags separating us from the rocky ground. The weather was horrendous as well. Teachers said it was the worst weather during the night they ever had there. I think the big bad wolf was trying to blow us all down :(
Wow, so much for Day 1 already.

DAY2
WAKEUP 6:15, then showered. The showers are nice, better than other camp's showers.
Breakfast, egg with toast and bacon. That was really nice too because the egg was cracked into the toast whilst it was being fried. We had to cook it ourselves on the BBQ. And yeah, there was all cereal and stuff too.
ACTIVITIES Walking for 8kms. That was really easy though, we just walked to do Survivor activities. Eg) Building some weird shelter & the bag and rope thing. Omfg, Mansoureh made we fall again but this time I actually bled. I have a disgusting scab and scratches on my right leg now. The blood was on the inside of my trackies too. ==
LUNCH sandwiches we made by ourselves, there was only vegetables, ham & cheese available. Dijonaise sauce is really nice with mustard x)
DINNER Instant pasta we made ourselves. That was quite yummy too. Anne & Da young ate like four packets of it, they didn't know we were having dessert too. Pancakes & icecream was SUPER YUMMY. Like the Coles premade pancakes, you just have to toast them.

DAY3
We had to wake up early because this was the day that we were going to climb St. Mary's Peak (1170m).
Shower was freezing and breakfast was the same so that was gay. We made our own lunch, again and they also gave us scroggin and snacks for the walk.
Ums we left around 9AM, me and my friend went in the last group but somehow we managed to pass most of the other groups. Damn it got so hot, lucky I wore shorts under my trackies cause pretty much everyone just stripped down to their shorts & tshirts.
Rita and Jessica dropped out before we got to the saddle. The last few minutes before we reached the saddle was so bloody intense but luckily I ditched Zahra with the backpack before that part and rushed up there >:) Me and Anne were one of the firsts to get there (H). 39 PEOPLE WENT UP THE PEAK. That's an all time record babe.

Also, the view on top of St Mary's Peak was amazing. You can't capture it in a photo but it was nothing I'd ever seen before. There were no safety strings or whatever on top of there so you could just fall off if you made a wrong move easily.

The trip back was even more tiring, Da Young sprained her ankle and I "nearly tripped" every 10 minutes. Hahah and yes we did go in the bushes /shiftyeyes , it was so weird. I went twice 8-). Nhung kept needing to do a #2 LOL! But I think she held it til we got back. The walk overall was around 32km I think? Wells it did take at least 9 hours for the whole thing, uphill & downhill.
DINNERRRRR; Yiros, that was really yummy :)
SUPPER? Toasted English muffins with jam
. I swear that is the best ever (Y)

DAY4
Mmmns they let us sleep in today so that was really nice. One of the best sleeps there. Once again, breakfast was the same. Oh and I have to tell you about this. We had Italian exchange students over on the camp too. One of them is a freaking barbie and omg she eats so so so sososo much! For breakfast she'd probably have like 5 pieces of toast (& i'm not exaggerating) and on each toast she would have heaps of butter, thick layer of strawberry jam, topped with heaps of MILO then with sugar. Crazy hey?
Btw, you should try Milo with cereal in a cup (preferably Nutrigrain). Its so nice.
Activities: Bushwalking to see Aboriginal Cave Drawings. That was shit as, so not worth it. The skull under the drawings was 1000Xs more interesting.
Lunch: This was back at the campsite though, and you'd think they'd have something different. BS. Same thing, sandwiches. Urgh I had mine without ham though, just cheese & veggies. Ham is disgusting.
The rest of the day was really fun, everyone was really high since it was the last day. Hahah I kept calling Nhung N. "Boy" , and she kept calling me "Monkey" - -' We hid Rita too in our tent, that was so fun, and she fattened me up with her sour gummi worms. We got rid of all our lollies that afternoon.
I really wanted to go on the final walk but no one else wanted to, so I forced Jessica to go with me since she didnt climb St. Mary's Peak. It was really worth it, even if only 5 out of 55 people went.

DINNER:
was on when we arrived back from the walk. It was a BBQ but that was really nice even though the bread we got was super cold. Omg, teachers got steak, that was so unfair. And I didn't get seconds because I thought there was going to be dessert .. but there wasn't any -______-

Shower was afterwards but it was only us 5 who went on the walk cause everyone already had showered while we were away. Omg, Meg was in the shower and she suddenly started crying. At that time I was two showers away and Antoinette was like what's wrong? Meg kept denying stuff for around five minutes, so we thought she was having a breakdown or something. Then she finally blurted out, "THERE'S SHIT COMING OUT OF MY SHOWER!" Everyone just cracked up. There was literally shit coming out of the drain, little brown blobs. It stunk so much, and I was in my shower just sniffing my Tresemee shampoo. Man, I felt so sorry for her. Antoinette & Riley rushed to the campsite whilst Jess & I stayed at the showers with Meg. The teacher were laughing too, that was so mean. But on the way back in the van, we saw the Italian internationals walking on the way to the shower. Ehehs, everyone: "OMG YAY! Don't stop them!" But the teachers had to drive back to tell them, sheesh. The Italian exchanges are such bitches anyways, bitching about everything all the time in Italian.

That night was the best, Zahra made me her signature MILO. In my tiny ass cup, she put like 3 tbsps of Milo and 2tbsps of sugar mixed with hot water. OH I WENT SO HIGH.
Then us bunch of asians (lol) got given an astronomy talk under the stars by Mr Arman. The stars were soooo pretty, we saw the Southern Cross, Constellations, Mars & Saturn, and a spy satellite 8). I wanna be an astronaut now. LOL
But that took ages, when we got back all the watermelon was gone so we got to eat Anzac biscuits instead x). I shoved like 3 into my pockets /shiftyeyes.
So much other stuff happened too but I won't blog about it. This blog is really really long.

I loved that night ♥

DAY5
Last day; Mr Brown woke us up at 5AM in the morning.
Breakfast was blehs. We only had cereal & juice that morning.
Fucking stingy teachers, there was so much food leftover but they didn't let us eat it :(
There was a light shower that morning too, we were like the place was sad that we were leaving. On the bustrip back I didnt eat no lollies & shit, but I guess that's also cause there wasnt any left to eat anyways. The trip also seemed way shorter back. I slept heaps more this time as well on the bus. Back at Clares, we were shouted a pie, a dessert and drink each. I had Steak&Mushroom pie, omg that was so nice & an apple slice + orange juice. I was the only one to have apple slice and everyone else had muffins. My friends tried my apple slice and they all said it was wayyy too sweet. Bullcrap, more like it wasn't sweet enough x) Damn I was hungry, ate like everyone else's muffins .. >:P

You don't know how happy we were when we finally got back into the metropolitan area and when my phone finally reached service too. I got a few texts saying where are you? Lols, but I was low on batts so cbf replying.

This teacher went spaz on us when the bus stopped cause of a broken tire or something. Tori just put her finger out of the window and the teacher was like .. NFLKSENFNKLND!
This was the same teacher who went spaz when we were eating too much Milo too. She also went spaz at us when Laura sprayed her Ralph Lauren perfume in the bus. Just cause "the teacher" was an asthmatic, she confiscated it. Freaking bitch probably just wanted it for herself.
You should've seen us when we reached the city too! Everyone was like WOOOOOOOH ! Hah, then some really .. big girl in a really puffy dress standing at some bustop just turned us off. - - "

When we got back at school, I just jumped myself on everyone. Missed everyone so much. Mai was crying ! O: It was so good to see everyone again. Nga wasn't at school that day though so it was disappointing that I didn't get to see her ):
It was really nice as well to be back at home, I literally spent probably 1 hour under my shower when I got back home. MSN went all sdjflsdfjl too. Typed so much.

Overall, this week has been .. different; I personally quite enjoyed it. It made me realize how nice home is ♥
