I've got writer's block
Thursday, October 20, 2011 || 9:02 PM

To be honest, these days I cannot write at all. I'd be surprised if I'm even able to finish this post without feeling insecure about my writing. To me, my current writing insecurities are at par with the average teenager’s insecurities about their appearance. However, in this case I don’t compare myself to others – I actually compare myself to myself. At times, trying to get a sense of what to write by revisiting my previous essays and reflections would result in a massive putdown over the current piece that I’m composing. With my grades gradually decreasing and Year 12 nearing, I’m truly starting to feel that ‘pressure’ on (especially with everyone informing me about my tragic fate next year, quote: ‘you’re so going to die’). This is my first time feeling this sort of ‘pressure’ about schoolwork, so it’s rather queer to me – but at the same time a tad bit daunting. Anyway, I’m straying off the topic of falling victim to writer’s block. I was discussing this with a friend of mine’s earlier today and we both agreed that we cannot write a single paragraph these days without the use of a thesaurus (for instance the word daunting just then was synonym-ed from scary, lol). You would think that as you age your vocabulary capacity increases, but for me it’s like someone’s simply deleted a whole hard drive of words from my head. Half the time, I just sit at the laptop with a blank Microsoft Word document open for at least a day or so. A quarter of the time, I don’t even bother opening up the program. The other quarter when words are genuinely present on the screen is when the assignment was due from last term.
If this sense of blankness continues, I am literally screwed.

By the way, with my last post about One Direction,
I AM SO OVER THEM. LIKE UGOPHOP, UUB UUT.

But one last thing about 1D:
